Job Title: Research Manager, Environmental Health

About the Role:
The Department of Environmental Health at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) is seeking a Research Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Gulf War Illness Research Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of project coordinators, implementing training procedures, and managing the financial aspects of the research group. They will also provide input on hiring decisions, manage performance reviews, and oversee the implementation of material transfer agreements and data use agreements with collaborators. Additionally, they will assist with developing and managing IRB and HRPO application and study protocol documents, and liaise with other study staff, investigators, and RAs to resolve operational and administrative issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of project coordinators and day-to-day activity of the research group.
  • Provide input on hiring decisions.
  • Manage all aspects of Material transfer agreements/Data use agreements with collaborators.
  • Along with project coordinator, manage relationships with collaborators outside of the University.
  • Attend collaborator meetings with PC and PI.
  • Manage IRB Applications, IRB quarterly reports, DoD Annual Reports including developing drafts and systems to track status of all research projects.
  • Working with the PI manage manuscript writing and grant applications including tracking and meeting deadlines.
  • Develop tracking/project management systems to allow for scheduling all aspects of the research group.
  • Generating monthly reports summarizing for PI status of grants, recruitment, financial and issues/concerns.
  • Processing payments and supply ordering for grants in their individual portfolio.
