About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Operations Specialist to join our team at the State of Washington. As a key member of our Business Resources Division, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of short- and long-term leases and managing the daily operations of our Fleet Operations vehicles assigned to specific agency customers statewide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and track information regarding agency leased vehicles
  • Conduct research and analysis regarding vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and compliance with state agency transportation officers and management
  • Input data, recommend vehicle types, and fleet composition based on customer requirements
  • Research vehicle specifications and process orders for replacement of new vehicles in collaboration with customers' requirements
  • Train customers on DES Fleet policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Provide essential customer service support, including resolving customer complaints concerning Fleet Operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
  • Two years of professional work experience in Fleet Management, Fleet Administration, or related field
  • OR Associate degree and four years of professional work experience in Fleet Management, Fleet Administration, or related field
  • OR Combination of education and/or experience in Fleet Management, Fleet Administration, or related field totaling six years
  • Valid driver's license free of serious traffic violations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education, training, or certification in business or fleet management
  • Practical experience in business analytics and/or fleet management
  • Knowledge of the division and program services
  • Fiscal accountability and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
