Metro is seeking a highly skilled Mobility Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Accessible Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our customers with disabilities receive the highest level of service and support.

Job Summary:

The Mobility Support Specialist will be responsible for conducting ADA assessments, facilitating appeals meetings, and serving as a liaison between Metro, Access, and other transportation providers. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments for new customers and recertification of existing customers in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes related to transportation services for customers with disabilities
  • Initiate and maintain accurate records of assessments and make recommendations regarding eligibility
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain an energized appeals committee
  • Participate in staff training and development programs
  • Supervise daily operations at the Silverton Assessment Center
  • Initiate and maintain positive community relations
  • Attend public meetings, fairs, and marketing opportunities to promote Accessible Services
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Certification
  • Four years of related experience in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Special Education, or a closely related field
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with Trapeze products (PASS, CERT, COM) is helpful
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
Work Environment:
  • Office/training center atmosphere
