About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join our team as a Human Resources Director. This is a key leadership role that will oversee the Human Resources Department and provide strategic guidance on HR-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the staff and operations of the Human Resources Department
  • Provide professional advice and counsel to County staff and management
  • Direct recruitment and selection, employee benefits, EEO compliance, compensation and classification, personnel processing and HRIS, personnel policies, training and development, performance evaluations, contract administration, labor relations and employee relations
  • Direct the assessment, planning, development, and evaluation of HR programs and services
  • Lead resolution of labor relations, collective bargaining, contract negotiations, and employee relations issues
  • Prepare and manage HR fiscal budgets
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, centralized personnel records management and administration
  • Administer the County's benefits programs
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and supervisors on employment laws

The Human Resources Department provides leadership and support to the organization for servicing comprehensive human resources functions. The department is dedicated to providing effective policies, procedures, and people-friendly guidelines to enhance the County's services by supporting operational efficiencies with our value-added strategic customer service partnerships.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Business or Public Administration
  • Six years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources management, including four years of supervisory experience
  • May alternatively possess ten (10) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements of the position
