Key Responsibilities:
1. Foster a culture of continuous improvement to elevate safety standards and operational efficiency.
2. Communicate strategic objectives and performance targets to team members.
3. Monitor and control the achievement of operational goals.
4. Identify opportunities for cost savings and track monthly performance against these targets.
5. Manage local customer relationships and ensure their requirements are met.
6. Implement standardized work practices effectively.
7. Utilize LEAN and SIX SIGMA methodologies and engage in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process.
8. Actively participate in the launch of new products and oversee the transition of projects into full-scale production.
9. Analyze key performance indicators and benchmarks to drive center management.
10. Oversee personnel management with a focus on economic efficiency.
11. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements set forth by governing bodies.
12. Cultivate a positive workplace culture to enhance employee retention.
13. Ensure adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and Quality protocols in line with OHSAS 18001 and IATF.
14. Align existing and new programs with quality and cost objectives.
15. Coordinate and conduct center-related audits, both internal and external.
16. Monitor and assess fundamental production metrics.
17. Leverage visual management tools within the plant and facilitate feedback loops.
18. Manage daily production schedules to fulfill customer demands while optimizing costs and maintaining high-quality standards.
19. Engage in logistics processes to improve material flow efficiency.
20. Identify investment needs for equipment, integrate them into the budget, and oversee budget compliance.
21. Address quality issues from customers and suppliers with support from relevant departments.
22. Ensure accurate daily timekeeping for direct reports.
23. Administer disciplinary procedures in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant operational experience.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Experience in a unionized work environment is advantageous; familiarity with UAW is preferred.
- Proficient in HR tools and their application, with knowledge of managerial and motivational techniques, as well as conflict resolution.
- Understanding of production planning methods and IT skills, including Outlook, Office, SAP, and other relevant software.
- Proven ability to develop and lead teams effectively.
- Proficiency in English is required.
