Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optics Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our first product - an AI laser sentinel.

This is a generalist engineering role that requires self-direction, adaptability, and a passion for learning. The successful candidate will have experience in EECS, optics, photonics, laser system development, and/or robotics, with a strong understanding of laser physics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate new laser systems, as well as retrofit existing systems to maximize power down-range.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex laser system challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate laser systems into our AI-powered sentinel.
  • Contribute to the development of our company's intellectual property and publish research in the field of laser physics.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in optics, photonics, laser system development, and/or robotics.
  • Strong understanding of laser physics and ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
