OBJECTIVE:

The primary aim of this role is to manage the Audio Visual (AV) division within the Technology Services department, acting as the main liaison for all AV technology support inquiries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The AV Operations Supervisor is tasked with the oversight of the installation, upkeep, and functionality of all audio-visual systems and equipment across the organization. This position includes managing AV initiatives, collaborating with various teams, ensuring top-notch AV support for events and meetings, and leading a team of AV specialists. The Supervisor guarantees exceptional AV experiences by remaining informed about the latest technologies and ensuring efficient AV operations.

  1. AV Department Oversight: Direct the daily functions of the AV department, ensuring all equipment operates effectively. Formulate and enforce AV policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality. Manage the inventory of AV assets, including procurement, maintenance, and upgrades.
  2. Event Coordination: Organize and manage AV needs for events, conferences, meetings, and presentations. Provide on-site AV assistance during events to ensure smooth operations. Quickly troubleshoot and resolve any AV challenges to minimize disruptions.
  3. Team Management: Oversee, mentor, and assess a team of AV specialists. Schedule and assign tasks to ensure comprehensive coverage for all AV requirements. Promote a collaborative and professional team atmosphere.
  4. Project Coordination: Lead AV projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management. Collaborate with other departments and external partners to meet project specifications. Track project progress and make necessary adjustments to adhere to timelines and budgetary constraints.
  5. Technical Proficiency: Maintain extensive knowledge of AV systems, including audio, video, lighting, and control technologies. Stay abreast of the latest AV innovations and industry developments. Offer technical advice and recommendations for AV system enhancements and upgrades.
  6. Client Relations: Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Consult with clients to ascertain their AV requirements and provide suitable solutions. Address client feedback and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  7. Documentation and Analysis: Keep precise records of AV equipment, maintenance schedules, and event support activities. Generate reports on AV operations, project status, and team performance. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations related to AV functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in the AV support field (minimum of 7 years).
  • At least 5 years of experience in AV management or a comparable role.
  • Expertise in operating and troubleshooting various AV systems and equipment.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Certification in AV technologies (e.g., CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) is advantageous.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
