Purchasing Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at Ellis Medicine. As a key member of our Purchasing function, you will play a critical role in coordinating various purchasing databases, preparing cost analysis reports, and troubleshooting EDI and other purchasing transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate purchase orders in a timely manner, ensuring they are complete, valid, and approved.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to monitor and improve performance, including on-time delivery and invoice submission.
  • Update stocked and stockless ordering information, addressing stock-outs and back orders promptly.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding product releases and resolve shipping and receiving problems.
  • Process invoice discrepancies and assist with reconciliation.
  • Coordinate returns within vendor policies and communicate with the shipping area.
  • Compile cost analyses and data research to aid in supply chain projects.
  • Assist with product trials and new product implementation.
  • Set up and troubleshoot EDI transactions.
  • Manage contracts, service agreements, and leases in the supply chain contract database.
  • Complete required training and assist with training new employees.
  • Comply with hospital and department policies, work rules, and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Associated Degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in supply chain and purchasing, with problem-solving and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience creating spreadsheets for analyzing information.
