Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Duke Regional Hospital. As an ED Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our emergency services team.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in patient care interventions and personal care procedures for patients.
- Perform approved dressings and wound care for NCA level patients.
- Assist with nutritional activities, personal hygiene, and ambulation.
- Collect, deliver, and conduct routine tests on patient specimens.
- Escort or transport patients who do not require hemodynamic monitoring.
- Clean assigned areas, stock and replenish supplies, and maintain readiness of HAZMAT Room.
- Perform EKG technician tasks, including routine and STAT EKGs, order verification, and electronic transmission.
- Assist with patient registration, admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
- Successful completion of NCA I training or North Carolina EMT training.
- Current minimum listing as an NCA I with the Division of Facility Services or current minimum credential as EMT.
- BLS certification required.
- One year of related healthcare experience as an NCA, ED Tech, EMT, or equivalent.
- Current minimum listing as an NCA II with the Division of Facility Services or current minimum certification credential as Advanced EMT EMT-B.
