Job Summary:
As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will be among the first to respond during emergencies. Your responsibilities will include assessing injuries, administering emergency medical care, extricating trapped individuals, and transporting injured and sick persons to medical facilities.
The Emergency Medical Science curriculum at Durham Tech trains students to become paramedics and EMTs. Students acquire basic and advanced life support knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, practical lab sessions, hospital clinical experience, and field internships with emergency medical service agencies.

- Extricate trapped individuals
- Transport injured and sick persons to medical facilities
Working Conditions:
EMTs work in a fast-paced environment, often in emergency situations. They may be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious diseases, and physical harm.
Education and Training:
The Emergency Medical Science curriculum at Durham Tech trains students to become paramedics and EMTs. Students acquire basic and advanced life support knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, practical lab sessions, hospital clinical experience, and field internships with emergency medical service agencies.
