Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage transportation engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage bridge projects located throughout New England and other local areas as needed.
  • Prepare and perform complex structural analysis, and design calculations, drawings, and details for engaging bridge projects.
  • Lead and assemble a qualified project team to successfully complete complex projects or challenging client deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Assist with the management of design, review process, and permitting through outside agencies.
  • Assist with business development, client presentations, and proposal preparations for exciting and challenging bridge projects.
  • Coordinate with clients with submittals, meetings, and comments as required for successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with and manage technical staff to meet project deadlines with sub-consultants.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain engineering budgets on bridge projects.
  • Mentor, train, and review work performed by junior engineering staff.
  • Achieve excellent financial performance for Hoyle Tanner.
  • Provide superior client service by responding to needs and understanding concerns.
  • Maintain and foster team engagement and satisfaction in completing project tasks and collaborating with subconsultants and other disciplines.
  • Resolve team personnel conflicts in conjunction with supervisors.
  • Lead efforts in pursuit of potential projects and the development of technical and price proposals.
  • Monitor and manage resources to complete projects in accordance with the contract, scope of services, budget, and schedule.
  • Promptly invoice for services rendered and advocate for outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure a quality management plan is developed with roles defined accordingly.
  • Keep Principal-In-Charge informed of potential claims or contract risks as they arise and collaborate on resolution strategies as needed.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to other project managers.
Requirements:
  • BS, MS degree (preferred)
  • Professional Engineering License in one or more New England states
  • 15+ years of increasing engineering or planning and leadership experience
  • At least 5 years of experience as a project manager
  • Strong communication skills, an acute understanding of project finances, scheduling, and client management skills
