Description
Are you looking to join a premier healthcare organization in Northern California? Pulmonary Medicine Associates, serving the greater Sacramento region for over five decades, is currently seeking meticulous and organized Nurse Practitioners/Physician's Assistants to provide care for Pulmonary and sleep patients in our clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of a physician, deliver care to both new and returning patients following established protocols as per PMA policy.
- Perform thorough history and physical examinations, engage in diagnostic reasoning, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.
- Collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate the care plan and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients about available treatment options, potential side effects, treatment protocols, wellness strategies, and early detection methods by providing relevant materials and resources.
- Accurately document all services and orders in the patient's electronic medical record.
- Communicate effectively with referring physicians to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
- Assist in addressing complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients and their families.
- Uphold the confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Support other PMA patients as required or requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education/Licensure/Certifications:
- Graduate from an accredited institution offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP) and possess a current, unrestricted California NP license
OR - Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program and hold a current California State Physician Assistant License, issued by the Physician Assistant Board under the Medical Board of California.
- Current DEA certificate without restrictions.
- ACLS certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A minimum of two years of relevant NP/PA experience is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and establish work standards and business objectives.
- Proficient in relating to patients, their families, and healthcare team members in a professional and tactful manner.
- Strong understanding of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacological agents utilized in patient treatment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proper telephone etiquette.
- Capability to provide medical services within the scope of licensing and training.
Salary:
$150,000 - $170,000 per year
