Are you looking to join a premier healthcare organization in Northern California? Pulmonary Medicine Associates, serving the greater Sacramento region for over five decades, is currently seeking meticulous and organized Nurse Practitioners/Physician's Assistants to provide care for Pulmonary and sleep patients in our clinics.

This is a full-time, exempt role with a schedule from Monday to Friday during daytime hours. Comprehensive training is provided. We offer a competitive salary along with a robust benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of a physician, deliver care to both new and returning patients following established protocols as per PMA policy.
  • Perform thorough history and physical examinations, engage in diagnostic reasoning, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.
  • Collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate the care plan and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients about available treatment options, potential side effects, treatment protocols, wellness strategies, and early detection methods by providing relevant materials and resources.
  • Accurately document all services and orders in the patient's electronic medical record.
  • Communicate effectively with referring physicians to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
  • Assist in addressing complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients and their families.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Support other PMA patients as required or requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited institution offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP) and possess a current, unrestricted California NP license
    OR
  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program and hold a current California State Physician Assistant License, issued by the Physician Assistant Board under the Medical Board of California.
  • Current DEA certificate without restrictions.
  • ACLS certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of two years of relevant NP/PA experience is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and establish work standards and business objectives.
  • Proficient in relating to patients, their families, and healthcare team members in a professional and tactful manner.
  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacological agents utilized in patient treatment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Capability to provide medical services within the scope of licensing and training.

Salary:

$150,000 - $170,000 per year
