Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to serve as a Clinical Supervisor in our Gastroenterology/Hepatology department. The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise to patients and their families, act as a resource person for healthcare providers, and participate in teaching programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise to patients and their families in the outpatient arena
  • Act as a resource person for healthcare providers
  • Participate in gastroenterology/hepatology teaching programs
  • Provide direct patient care to a diversified patient population
  • Apply knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations
  • Participate in patient and staff education
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Demonstrate accountability for own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act
Requirements
  • Three (3) years of NP or PA experience
  • Two (2) years of Gastroenterology APP experience
  • Supervisor or leadership experience
  • AGACNP National Nurse Practitioner Certification or National certification as a Physician Assistant
  • Current BLS and CPR and all certifications required for area of work
  • ACLS, PALS, and ENLS within three (3) months of hire
  • Graduation with a master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing or PA program
  • DEA within three (3) months of hire
  • Possession of valid California RN and NP License, or valid PA license
  • Furnishing license
  • DEA within three (3) months of hire
  • Graduation with a master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing or PA program
  • National board certification if an NP, in an aligned specialty
  • One year or greater experience as an APP leader
  • One year or greater recent clinical experience in specialty care of the hiring department
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients
  • Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role
  • Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider
