Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Leader-DCW to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our school age program, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and development of the Warren Street Center school age program, as well as the direct operation of a school age classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in administrative management and program matters related to the running of the school age program, including facilitating committees and creating admission procedures.
  • Collaborate with the School-Age Coordinator and Education Director to determine the goals and objectives of the school age program and develop methods to achieve them.
  • Establish mechanisms to assess program quality and impact, and ensure the implementation of the center's mission statement, philosophy, and curriculum.
  • Observe and assess staff to evaluate service delivery and identify areas for further development, and arrange for staff training and development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans, create and execute weekly lesson plans, and develop and execute curriculum review and feedback.
  • Meet regularly with school-age staff and the Education Director to plan, coordinate, and conduct assessments of year-round educational program curricula.
  • Act as liaison between the Center and primary caregivers, establish ongoing communication systems, and enlist the support and involvement of caregivers and community residents in the strengthening of the school age program.
  • Work with school age staff and other program specialists to cultivate and develop educational program enhancements tied to the mission, philosophy, and curriculum of the school-age program.
  • Identify and secure resources to strengthen the program, arrange for site visits and trips outside the Center, and establish referral procedures and networks to assist staff in addressing the educational, health, social, and special needs of participants.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and Two years teaching experience required; Bachelors Degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
