Position Overview

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver on-site direct behavioral health support to individuals with developmental disabilities within a residential environment.
  • Oversee daily operations of the home, which includes staff management, administrative tasks, residence coordination, therapeutic support, skill development, documentation, and the formulation of Individual Service Plans and/or Treatment Plans.
  • Ensure consistent daily structure and coverage for the residence, providing supervision and assistance with daily living skills, personal care, case management, medication auditing, transportation, crisis intervention, and recreational activities.
  • Communicate significant behavioral changes and notable incidents to designated supervisory staff. Act as a liaison and advocate for community resources while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment that complies with all safety standards, federal and state regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Guarantee that services align with the mission of SERV Achievement Centers and adhere to SERV BHS' ethical standards. Collaborate with licensing authorities and relevant agencies during inspections or investigations. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • A bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience working with youth facing intellectual and developmental disabilities is required, or an unlicensed master's level practitioner with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license in the state of residence is essential.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination, drug screening, and background check is required.
  • Physical capability to bend, reach, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds during an 8-12 hour shift. Visual and auditory skills must be sufficient to assess and address client needs. Proficient fine motor skills for accurate report writing and daily correspondence are necessary.
  • Ability to sit for approximately 2-3 hours, stand or walk for 6-10 hours, and drive a company vehicle for 1-4 hours during a shift. Flexibility to work a 12-hour day is expected.
  • Managers must complete Crisis Management Training and be prepared to implement crisis management techniques as required.
