Kore 1, a leading provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Cathodic Protection Technologist to join our team. As a Cathodic Protection Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding isolated sections of steel pipelines from corrosion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Corrosion Risk Assessment: Analyze service history and GIS data to determine if a service qualifies under the CP10 replacement guideline.
- System Monitoring: Run reports and conduct research within SoCalGas' SAP/CPD systems for existing work, statuses, and more.
- Construction Oversight: Monitor and check construction statuses to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Cathodic Protection Implementation: Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of cathodic protection systems on isolated steel pipeline sections.
- Protocol Management: Implement and manage CP10 protocols to ensure corrosion protection is maintained across the pipeline network.
- Collaboration and Technical Support: Collaborate with engineering teams to assess the effectiveness of cathodic protection measures and recommend improvements as needed. Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel involved in CP10-related activities.
- Record Keeping and Compliance: Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and system performance for regulatory compliance and internal audits.
- Issue Resolution: Respond promptly to any identified issues or anomalies in the cathodic protection system, implementing corrective actions to mitigate corrosion risks.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of experience in cathodic protection, preferably with SoCalGas or as a contractor for them.
- NACE certification.
- Proficiency in SAP/CPD systems.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating service history and GIS data.
- Excellent communication and technical skills.
