Job Title: Value Process Engineer

At GE Aerospace, we are seeking a highly skilled Value Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Assembly and Test Organization, you will play a critical role in communicating business goals, programs, and processes to support engine assembly build processes for GE Aviation development, production, and overhaul.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a deep understanding of various assembly processes, material handling, and torque applications techniques throughout the full build of the engine.
  • Aid in troubleshooting assembly processes, special tooling applications, and best practices.
  • Develop a strong understanding of engine hardware modules, including assembly, standard tooling, and best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with standard lift protocols, quality systems, calibration procedures, heating/cooling applications, contamination/cleanliness protocols, and FAI requirements.
  • Understanding of standard engine hardware damage, causes, correct actions, and solutions.
  • Develop proficiency in data transfer and retrieval of torque data to/from the assembly shop floor unit to assembly servers.
  • Experienced with interpreting special tool drawings, parts lists, change/modification mechanisms, navigation through various systems, and understanding of correct contacts.
  • Working knowledge of common measurement devices and instruments.
  • Develop knowledge of computer-controlled torque equipment.
  • Experienced with interpreting engine hardware drawings, parts lists, navigation through various systems, and understanding of correct contacts.
  • Develop understanding of basic hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Ability to write equipment specifications, lead ordering, machine runoffs, installations, and final acceptance. Be the technical liaison to equipment manufacturers providing technical direction and assuring on-time machine/equipment delivery.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or high school diploma/GED with minimum of 4 years of supporting engine assembly build processes for GE Aviation development, production, and overhaul) + Minimum of 3 years of supporting engine assembly build processes for GE Aviation development, production, and overhaul.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills. Experience creating presentations and communicating to senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, torque, air/oil flow measurement, and calibration devices and systems.
  • Shop environment experience (specifically jet engine assembly/test) strongly desired.
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
