As we expand our offerings, we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Personal Safety Training Specialist to lead self-defense classes. This role is essential in equipping individuals with vital self-defense skills and techniques.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for teaching practical self-defense methods while creating a safe and supportive environment for students of diverse backgrounds and ages.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Demonstration: Provide engaging and effective self-defense lessons that encompass a variety of techniques, including striking, blocking, grappling, and evasion. Ensure clear demonstrations of techniques, allowing students to understand and replicate them accurately. Adapt instruction to cater to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Offer personalized feedback and guidance to help students enhance their self-defense capabilities.
Communication and Education: Foster effective communication with students across various ages, backgrounds, and learning styles.
Safety and Awareness: Prioritize safety in all training sessions. Educate students on situational awareness, risk assessment, and personal safety strategies. Empower students with confidence through effective self-defense techniques.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience as a self-defense instructor or martial arts practitioner with a focus on practical self-defense techniques. Strong knowledge of various self-defense disciplines, including striking, grappling, and situational awareness. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and cultivate a positive learning atmosphere. Teaching or coaching experience, ideally in self-defense or a related field. Physical fitness and the ability to effectively demonstrate techniques. Empathy and patience to support students of varying skill levels. Certification in self-defense instruction, martial arts, or a related discipline is required.
Compensation:
$45 - $60 hourly
