About the Role

The Zillow Group is seeking a highly skilled Data Science Director to lead a team focused on uncovering insights to drive better business decisions and customer experiences across our product portfolio. As a key member of the ASA Data Science team, you will be responsible for building and leading a world-class Data Science function that harnesses the power of data to inform Go-To-Market and Product Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set the vision for Data Science and manage the execution with the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with team members across product, engineering, marketing, operations, and more.
  • Use advanced analytics including clustering, propensity modeling, statistical knowledge, and other explanatory and causal inference techniques to gain a clearer picture of customer behavior.
  • Translate analytical findings to resonate with industry partners to enable our next phase of growth.
  • Build compelling data stories and visualizations to influence partners across the organization and beyond.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. mathematics, engineering, statistics, finance, or similar).
  • 15+ years of work experience involving quantitative data analysis and complex problem solving. Experience working with product teams strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years leading Data Science teams.
  • A strong understanding of statistical concepts, measurement issues, and inference techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and either Python or R, along with some experience with Tableau, Mode, or other visualization software.
  • Experience with ETL pipelines, scheduling and production data modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with A/B Testing, Experimentation, or Causal Inference.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with building a Data Science organization in a B2B landscape.
