Nursing Care Specialist

At Wexford Health Sources Inc., we prioritize delivering exceptional patient care through our team of skilled professionals. This role is an opportunity to work in a correctional healthcare setting, where you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing services.
Job Summary:
- Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, you will deliver patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- You will also direct and guide patient teaching activities and ancillary personnel, upholding standards of professional nursing.
- You will utilize electronic medical records and apply knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases to obtain health histories and assess patients.
- Additionally, you will provide leadership to RNs, LPNs, MAs, CNAs, and other nursing paraprofessionals in patient care related to medical aspects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and monitor offenders receiving medications as assigned and maintain charts and records.
- Utilize therapeutic communication skills and effective interviewing techniques to elicit pertinent historical information and make referrals as required.

Requirements:
- This role requires a current, valid New Mexico Registered Nursing License, CPR Certification, and graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience, preferably in correctional nursing, is preferred.
Compensation:
We offer a salary of $50,000-$60,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The location is Penitentiary of New Mexico in Santa Fe, NM. Our company values diversity, equity, and inclusion and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
