Job Overview

OBJECTIVE:

The Retail Product Consultant will be a driven individual with a passion for culinary excellence, serving as a brand representative and sales advisor for the ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS brands, including ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS, HENCKELS, MIYABI, Staub, Ballarini, and Demeyere in various retail environments.

SCOPE:

This role involves collaborating with retailers and ZWILLING Corporate to enhance and refresh existing retail spaces through product education via demonstrations and training, as well as merchandising support to boost sales and profitability. The Retail Product Consultant will ensure that sales targets are met by identifying challenges and opportunities at the store level, taking necessary actions in partnership with store personnel. A thorough understanding of retailer needs alongside ZWILLING's objectives is crucial, as is building trust and respect with store managers, associates, and district management. The Retail Product Consultant will provide ZWILLING and its retail partners with valuable insights for the continued growth and development of the ZWILLING brands in the marketplace.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to the Merchandising Manager.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication:

  • Establish effective communication channels with ZWILLING corporate and retail partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of store and district management to leverage these connections in achieving goals.

Business Management:

  • Prioritize accounts and develop an effective travel schedule based on sales performance and individual store requirements.
  • Understand the competitive landscape within the retail sector ZWILLING operates in, including pricing and product knowledge.
  • Manage territory by identifying opportunities and challenges, collaborating with sales to communicate relevant information promptly.
  • Monitor retailer markdowns and point-of-sale activities, reporting findings to National Account Managers.
  • Maintain visual standards as outlined by retailers and ZWILLING, providing recommendations for visual inventory upgrades.

Sales:

  • Ensure that sales objectives set by National Account Managers are achieved.
  • Analyze store performance to identify growth opportunities within the current product assortment.
  • Recognize additional products that may present opportunities for the account.
  • Collaborate with store management and staff to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Notify relevant parties of stock shortages.

Training / Demonstration:

  • Educate store staff and management on all ZWILLING brands, including product knowledge and usage techniques, especially for new product launches.
  • Organize and conduct culinary demonstrations and events for retail customers based on specific account needs.
  • Coordinate participation in bridal and special events as required by accounts.

Point of Sale:

  • Negotiate and secure key floor placements, signage, and visual enhancements.
  • Merchandise ZWILLING brands to ensure optimal presentation on the sales floor while maintaining visual standards.
  • Provide before-and-after merchandising photos, as well as documentation for new product launches and events.
  • Assist in locating stock and merchandising all fixtures according to ZWILLING and retailer standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic understanding of retail mathematics.

  • Visual merchandising expertise.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Preferred experience in sales or retail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Access to reliable high-speed internet.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • 2-3 years of experience in merchandising or specialty store management is preferred.
  • A BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel overnight and work weekends as needed.
