Job Summary

The Transfer Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the operations of SCI, ensuring the safe and respectful transportation of deceased individuals. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with first responders, coroners, hospitals, and senior living facilities to coordinate transfers and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Interact with bereaved family members in a courteous and professional manner, minimizing conversation and maintaining a respectful environment.
  • Enter deceased event information into proprietary software according to company procedures.
  • Transport caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes, and assist with moving caskets.

Vehicle Maintenance

  • Wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles to ensure they are presentable and in good condition.
  • Fuel vehicles as necessary and follow safety guidelines and expenditure processes.
  • Maintain personal protective and transfer supplies in vehicles, including cleaning products.
  • Identify vehicle engine or operating issues to management and drive vehicles for repair or inspection.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state/province issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • At least one (1) year work experience as a courier or driver, with direct customer interaction strongly preferred.

Work Environment

  • Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions.
  • Local and/or multiple location traveling required.
  • Comply with Field dress code policy.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up to 6 hours per day.
  • Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 75 pounds.

Work Hours

  • Working beyond standard hours as the need arises.
  • Local travel up to 100% using company vehicle.
