Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Russian Language Specialist to join our team at Element Care. As a Medical Interpreter, you will play a critical role in providing language interpretation services between limited English proficient speaking patients/families and our care providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Accurate Translation Services: Interpret for participants in social and informational settings, ensuring accurate and clear communication.
  • Maintain Medical Terminology: Possess and maintain proper medical terminology vocabulary and fluency in both English and Russian.
  • Calendar Management: Maintain an appointment calendar with internal and external interpreter resources, ensuring seamless scheduling.
  • Accompaniment Services: Accompany participants to outside appointments as needed, providing support and interpretation.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Apply cultural differences with the needs of the participant, ensuring a respectful and empathetic approach.
  • Tracking and Scheduling: Accurately maintain interpretation tracking forms and schedule agency interpreters for appointments at our site.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in administrative and operational tasks to ensure team/site goals are achieved.
  • Additional Requirements: May include wearing a face mask where a seal is critical, and maintaining a tight seal of the respirator.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalency and Certified Medical Interpreter designation from an accredited post-high school institution.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Russian, with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience translating in a healthcare setting, with a preference for elder experience.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent office-based computer skills in MS Office.
  • Travel: Frequent local travel required.
  • Covid Vaccine: Covid vaccine required for this position.
