Position Overview:

Reporting directly to a seasoned Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for establishing and leading the FP&A and Strategic Finance department. This role is crucial for developing comprehensive financial models, strategic initiatives, and insightful analyses that will enhance organizational performance and understanding.

Moreover, this position provides substantial visibility and the chance to collaborate closely with the CEO and CFO, offering strategic recommendations that will foster growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of sophisticated financial models
  • Implement effective forecasting and budgeting frameworks (FP&A)
  • Collaborate with the CEO as a strategic business partner
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics to interpret complex data for decision-makers
  • Establish solid budgeting protocols for product development initiatives
  • Work alongside the CFO to formulate mid- and long-term strategic plans
  • Evaluate performance metrics to identify growth opportunities (e.g., product development, margin enhancement)
  • Prepare detailed monthly reports for the Board
  • Engage with various teams to scrutinize financial data and drive performance improvements
  • Partner with the Data Analytics team to design dashboards and enhance forecasting accuracy
  • Assist the CFO in interactions with venture capital investors
  • Prepare the organization for future fundraising efforts

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a high-growth biotech, life sciences, or health technology environment
  • Outstanding financial modeling capabilities
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong commercial insight

Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory):

  • Experience in a venture capital-backed technology startup (biotech, life sciences, SaaS, healthtech, fintech)
  • Background in establishing FP&A processes within a VC-backed technology startup
