Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with accounts to initiate collection efforts based on payment timelines; manage communications with patients, insurance providers, and healthcare facilities.
  • Oversee a portfolio of accounts, ensuring accurate documentation, processing of purchase orders, and submission of invoices and claims.
  • Analyze and resolve disputed balances, developing appropriate action plans and escalating accounts as necessary.
  • Work closely with internal teams to guarantee accurate billing and payment processes; liaise with external stakeholders, including hospitals and insurance contract administrators, regarding overdue payments.
  • Compile management reports to provide current status updates and assist with various projects as needed.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies to maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to navigate public interactions with professionalism and composure.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in healthcare billing and collections, with a solid understanding of coding practices and the Fair Debt Collection Act.
