Job Overview

Ametrine Inc is seeking a highly skilled DCAA Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with DCAA standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits to ensure government compliance; coordinates internal and external activities (including financial statement audits & DCAA/DCMA requests)
  • Manage overall performance, policies and procedures and compliance with federal contracting system and processes
  • Collaborate with the applicable department leads and project managers to lead and support overall compliance with DCAA standards
  • Prepare and submit annual incurred cost submissions, including all main schedules and supporting data/supplemental schedules to DCAA for approval
  • Gather relevant information/data, coordinating, supporting, and reviewing audit responses to DCMA/DCAA
  • Analyze and interpret data, policies and regulatory requirements to aid decision making by business and finance leaders
  • Ensure compliance and champion internal controls and procedures
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements and transactions by leading account reconciliation process
  • Generate month end closing reports and associated analysis to executive management
  • Ensure compliance with purchase process via coordination of purchasing activities with project teams
  • Support project teams with all financial related matters including new order processing and customer billings
  • Cross training on government billing
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks including applying Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standard concepts to various circumstances and business practices to ensure compliance
  • Perform research on federal government rulings and regulations in preparation for audit efforts.
  • Prepare and submit preliminary billing rates to DCAA for approval
  • Supports other accounting team member processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Audit expense reports and reconciliation of travel charges to per diems in order to determine allowability in accordance with federal regulations
  • Reclassify or verify unallowable costs, either by statute or by terms of the contract
  • Review contracts, prepare and maintain contract brief for billing purposes
  • Monitor and maintain contract funding/mod reconciliation for billing purposes related to Government T&M/Cost Plus contracts
  • Assist with monthly billing and funding tracking for T&M, FFP, CPFF, and CPAF contracts
  • Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of DCAA related work experience for Government Contractor, supporting Federal contracts
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
  • In-depth knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, CAS, DCAA audit programs
  • SBIR, STTR requirements and Government Accounting (GAAP) experience.
  • Ability to think critically when facing complex relational, technical and field use problems.
  • Exceptional commitment to accuracy
  • Experience with various contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPAF)
  • Experience with Concur Travel and Expenses
  • Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) knowledge
  • Strong communications skills, particularly in presenting data and analysis to both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers.

The following activities are also required: reach (extending hands and arms in any direction), standing for long periods of time, walking (moving about to accomplish tasks), lifting (raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position), grasping (applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm), and repetitive motion (substantial moving of arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers) is required.

Other Requirements

Must be US Citizen (per US government contracts).

US security clearance preferred; ability to obtain upon employment is required.

May require domestic and/or international travel (+10%).

Work hours (in office) 8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday, some evenings required.
