Position Overview

This role is situated within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The primary objective of this position is to provide comprehensive support to the Outlying Office (OO) in relation to business operations and administrative functions pertinent to law enforcement activities.

Agency Clarification

Key Responsibilities

Typical tasks may include:
  • Executing a diverse range of administrative support activities for the Outlying Office (OO) and Division, associated with General Services Unit (GSU) and Finance and Procurement Unit (FPU) Business Operations Section (BOS) tasks, which encompass administrative, human resource liaison, fleet management, personal property management, security (personnel, physical, and information/communication), inspections/internal control, logistics, TFO management, Imprest, and records management.
  • Managing various distinct tasks/programs directly supporting the law enforcement mission of the OO.
  • Delivering administrative and operational support for an office engaged in activities related to administrative functions, human resource liaison, personal property management, and security.
  • Conducting intricate and specialized law enforcement searches and inquiries.
  • Collecting and evaluating data to pinpoint discrepancies.
  • Drafting an array of administrative documents, including reports, briefings, and correspondence.
  • Offering authoritative advice on administrative matters to the organization.
Employment Conditions

Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy the qualification requirements outlined below by the closing date of the announcement. If qualifying based on education, a copy of college transcripts must be submitted with the application.

Applicants for the GS-09 level must meet one of the following criteria:

A. Possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level.

Specialized experience encompasses both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer roles through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. Volunteer experience contributes to critical competencies, knowledge, and skills applicable to paid employment.

Alternatively, you may qualify at the GS-09 level if you meet the following:

One year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-07 level) that includes: 1) Providing administrative and operational support related to administrative functions, human resource liaison, personal property management, and security; 2) Conducting complex law enforcement searches; 3) Analyzing data for inaccuracies; 4) Preparing various administrative documents; and, 5) Offering authoritative guidance on administrative matters.

Education: A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be utilized to qualify for this position, ensuring the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
