We are seeking a skilled Engineer with expertise in Innovation and new Technology initiatives. This role will focus on the development of fuse or industrial circuit protection products.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Design, construct, and evaluate new product design concepts while overseeing new product launches.
    • Assist in new product development projects, including the creation of mechanical specifications and prototype production.
    • Develop technical drawings, conduct design & process FMEA's, and prepare cost estimates.
    • Build, test, and assess design concepts to ensure functionality and performance.
    • Engage in design verification and validation efforts by creating test plans, coordinating testing activities, and identifying opportunities for design enhancements.
    • Provide regular progress updates and actively participate in new product meetings.
  • Analyze existing Fuse Product lines to identify design modifications aimed at cost reduction and performance enhancement.
  • Investigate new technologies and materials that could be integrated into our product offerings.
  • Source new materials or technologies and evaluate their applicability to Littelfuse products.
  • Procure samples, develop prototypes, and conduct comprehensive testing.
  • Prepare detailed reports and actionable recommendations based on findings.
  • Collaborate with Customers to define application needs and fuse specifications, identifying product design opportunities and solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in designing Electrical Power Fuses and/or Accessories.
  • Proficient knowledge of fuse design or other circuit protection components.
  • Familiarity with third-party agency approval processes and relevant industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with UL or similar approval agencies.
  • Project Management experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and research abilities.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software, as well as Inventor or other 3D CAD tools.
  • Previous research experience is a plus.
