As we evolve our platform to meet growing demands, we are on the lookout for a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer with a strong focus on CDN and Networking to join our expanding engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in edge networking technologies, CDN, distributed caching, and cloud security principles.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement CDN configurations to guarantee high availability, performance, and scalability for diverse customer websites, including eCommerce, presence, and media.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams regarding networking and cloud security best practices, including edge computing technologies.
- Develop, maintain, and advise on edge security solutions, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and secure web gateways, to safeguard against external threats and unauthorized access.
- Stay informed on emerging cloud technologies, security threats, and industry trends to enhance our cloud security posture continuously.
- Create and maintain documentation related to cloud network architecture and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into edge networking solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Seek opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Enhance WP Engine's secure, high-performance software platform that supports millions of end users.
- Expand and refine observability services to support engineering and customer service efforts, fostering better feedback loops.
- Work closely with Product Management to ensure that your contributions deliver new value to our customers.
- Promote a culture of learning and mentorship.

Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over 7 years of experience in cloud networking, CDN engineering, or SRE roles, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality solutions.
- Relevant professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Cloud Security Engineer (CCSE), CCIE, CCNP, or CISSP.
- In-depth knowledge of networking and security operational concepts, including TCP, UDP, DNS, IPv4 + IPv6, BGP routing, GRE, SD-WAN, MPLS, Global Traffic Management, NAT, SSL/TLS, CDN, Firewall/WAF, OWASP, and operational security.
- Experience with HTTP technologies, including reverse proxy (e.g., WAF and CDN) and forward proxy (secure web gateway).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., SOC-2, NIST, CIS) and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO/IEC).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching, with hands-on experience in configuring cloud network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins) for infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with cloud and containerized technologies and services, including GCP, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Passionate about SRE principles and building resilient, reliable systems.
- Proven track record of developing resilient, scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
- Ability to work with and switch between multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, GoLang, JavaScript).
- Experience with sophisticated, large-scale public cloud deployments.
