This role is essential for executing intricate accounting functions that ensure accurate reporting of revenue and expenses for the business unit, while also delivering relevant data analytics to enhance operational decision-making.
- Provide accounting assistance during the month-end financial closing, including invoice reviews, payroll analysis, equipment profitability assessments, and supplier contract evaluations to meet company deadlines and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Collaborate with various operational finance sectors (payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.) to gain a comprehensive understanding of daily, weekly, and monthly financial operations.
- Partner with operational teams (Construction, Materials, Equipment, Quality, etc.) to implement Continuous Improvement initiatives in analyzing internal processes.
- Facilitate cross-training among staff on operational finance functions to ensure sufficient backup for all roles.
- Ensure timely processing of accounting and job cost data through various systems to maintain internal controls and meet weekly/monthly deadlines.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the monthly closing activities.
- Assist the business unit with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning, focusing on Revenue, Gross Profit, and SG&A tracking.
- Develop, maintain, and assess financial and statistical models to support operational decisions.
- Aid in internal audits across all business functions to ensure adherence to established internal controls and compliance with company policies, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Review financial reports to guarantee the accuracy and clarity of information presented to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in Budgeting/Finance, Financial Reporting, or Accounting.
- Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Proficient in managing detailed information and capable of organizing data for reports and financial documentation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise 1 is preferred.
- The role requires regular communication and interaction, with frequent periods of standing, walking, and sitting while using a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be necessary.
- Commitment to corporate safety initiatives to maintain a secure work environment.
- Adherence to the Company’s Code of Conduct.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
