Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for lab testing, and completing clerical duties in a timely manner to maintain the department's efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
  • Collect all specimens according to established procedures from patients and ensure they are properly processed.
  • Identify patients accurately and match their identity with the correct service to ensure patient safety.
  • Responsible for data entry and processing of specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested by test orders.
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or GED.
  • Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
  • One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
