Position Overview

Type: PRN - Day shifts of 8 to 12 hours

Departmental Hours: Monday to Thursday 7 AM - 8 PM, Friday 7 AM - 5 PM

Role Summary:

As a Physical Therapist, you will deliver services aimed at identifying, preventing, and rehabilitating both acute and chronic physical impairments or discomfort. Your role will involve evaluating and analyzing patients, applying therapeutic techniques, utilizing physical and chemical modalities, and instructing patients and their families to enhance functional independence. You will be responsible for treating a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors, across various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, and pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, demonstrating precision and expertise.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, employing suitable interventions and equipment tailored to your specialty.
  3. Educate and train patients and their families on therapeutic processes.
  4. Engage in peer review and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  5. Ensure documentation aligns with departmental standards.
  6. Initiate and coordinate discharge planning.
  7. Commit to ongoing professional development: complete 20 hours of continuing education annually and provide two hours of in-service training to colleagues each year.
  8. Offer clinical mentorship to students and junior staff.
  9. Assist in orienting, instructing, and evaluating support personnel.
  10. Adhere to all compliance regulations relevant to the role.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

Additional Information:

Required: Experience with patients experiencing neurological conditions.

Minimum Experience: One year in a relevant setting.

Desired: Certification in Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) within inpatient rehabilitation environments and CPR certification.

Working Conditions:

Manual Skills: Requires significant manual dexterity and coordination.

Occupational Risks: Some exposure to occupational hazards.

Physical Demands: Very heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.

Environmental Conditions: Possible exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and other environmental factors.
