Position Overview:

TAT Technologies Group is seeking a skilled APU Assembly Specialist to join our team. The Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a critical turbine engine used in aircraft to supply electrical and pneumatic power when the main engines are not operational.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, test, and manage documentation related to Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), components, parts, and tools.
  • Perform secondary tasks including disassembly, cleaning, analytical inspection, rework processes, painting, packaging, and other assigned duties.
  • Interpret maintenance manuals and technical data to assess the feasibility and methods for completing assigned tasks.
  • Replace or repair damaged or worn engine and component parts using various hand tools, specialized tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Assemble components utilizing the same tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to proper tool and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) control practices.
  • Accurately complete work orders, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and data entries within the ERP system.
  • Understand and apply Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, and ISO documentation and related materials.
  • Operate, maintain, and service specialized equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred experience with Honeywell 331 series APUs.
  • Technical training in automotive or diesel mechanics or machinist courses is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience is required, with a strong aptitude for learning new mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Experience in turbine engine overhaul or engine component overhaul is necessary.
  • FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant license or equivalent certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring equipment and hand tools relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Ability to locate, read, and follow technical data pertinent to assigned tasks.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and understanding English is essential.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
