About the Role

At Builders FirstSource, we are seeking a skilled Assembler I to join our team in the Interior Door Production department. As an Assembler I, you will play a critical role in the mass production of interior doors, windows, trusses, panels, and stairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble interior doors and other products by placing parts in specified relationships and fastening them together using bolts, clips, screws, or cement.
  • Cut products to specific measurements as needed.
  • Remove defective products from the production line.
  • Tend to machines that perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Adapt to changing tasks and product models in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Clean equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
Requirements
  • No prior experience or education is required, but prior carpentry experience is helpful.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Verbal expression ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment with continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Continuous exposure to loud noise levels.
  • Required to wear ear plugs, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as needed.
