Job Overview
As an Early Childhood Program Educator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging preschool classes for children aged 2 to 4 years. Your role will involve utilizing various activities such as science experiments, artistic projects, literacy exercises, and sensory play to foster children's social, cognitive, and language development in a playful environment. You will ensure a safe and nurturing classroom atmosphere by organizing age-appropriate group activities and games. The curriculum will include elements like science, weather, art, storytelling, and circle time. A passion for working with young children is essential.
Work Schedule
This position operates during the school year, with classes scheduled on Wednesdays from 9:15 AM to 12:00 PM. Additional hours may be available for other preschool programs as needed.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with the public, addressing both compliments and concerns.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated sound judgment in problem-solving and responding to customer inquiries.
- Proficiency in standard office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Minimum Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with preschool or youth populations.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess or be able to obtain first aid/CPR certification prior to starting.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check as mandated by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.
Work is conducted in an indoor setting characterized by high noise levels. Candidates must be able to walk, climb, bend, and stoop to perform various tasks.
