Overview:
The Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role includes providing assistance to fellow imaging professionals as necessary. Effective communication and behavioral skills must reflect the mission, values, and culture of CHRISTUS Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the expectations of the relevant OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Conduct various diagnostic imaging procedures, including complex cases, using cutting-edge computerized imaging technology.
  • Exhibit proficiency in initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access and utilizing high-speed, pressurized injection systems.
  • Assess patients for clinical contrast history and potential contraindications.
  • Comply with established departmental and organizational protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage appropriately with patients and all healthcare providers by coordinating and prioritizing procedures throughout the workday to ensure high-quality patient care and continuity.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to rotate among departments and clinics for adequate coverage.
  • Assist Radiologists in invasive and biopsy procedures using CT technology to accurately identify anatomical locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of exam rooms prior to procedures and ensure adherence to Infection Control standards.
  • Ensure accurate coding and entry of all charges.
  • Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless necessary for job performance.
  • Exemplify adherence to the core values of CHRISTUS Health Care.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized program required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical environment required; 3 years of CT experience in a clinical imaging setting preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required; ARRT certification in CT required; current state licensure required; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
