Overview:
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging procedures. This role involves providing assistance to fellow imaging technologists as required. Effective communication and professional behavior must reflect the core values and mission of CHRISTUS Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits proficiency in the designated OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Conducts various diagnostic imaging procedures, including complex cases, utilizing cutting-edge computerized imaging technology.
  • Demonstrates skill in initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access, along with operating high-speed, pressurized injection systems.
  • Assesses patients for clinical contrast history and identifies potential contraindications.
  • Follows established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engages effectively with patients and healthcare providers, coordinating and prioritizing imaging procedures to ensure optimal patient care and continuity.
  • Possesses the flexibility and willingness to rotate among departments and clinics for adequate coverage.
  • Assists Radiologists during invasive and biopsy procedures using CT technology to accurately locate anatomical structures.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures and compliant with Infection Control standards.
  • Ensures accurate coding and entry of all charges.
  • Adapts patient assessment and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Conducts all duties while safeguarding patient confidentiality and refraining from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job performance.
  • Upholds the Core values of CHRISTUS Health Care.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized qualification is required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical environment is required; 3 years of CT experience in a clinical imaging setting is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Must be registered with the (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technology; registration in CT is required. Current state licensure and BLS certification (American Heart Association) are also mandatory.
