Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is integral to the daily functions of Heirloom A's expanding portfolio. Collaborating closely with the Property Operations and Housekeeping teams, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with performing essential repairs and preventative upkeep to guarantee that all properties meet Heirloom A's maintenance and brand expectations. An ideal candidate is a dependable team player and a resourceful problem solver with relevant maintenance experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance and basic repairs, including but not limited to:
  • Essential home repairs such as repairing or replacing garbage disposals, unclogging drains, and replacing toilets and ceiling fans.
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and determining if third-party assistance is required.
  • Hanging and mounting various items including art, mirrors, decor, light fixtures, and shelves.
  • Performing basic landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks like mowing and weeding.
  • Executing basic carpentry repairs, such as fixing broken support rails in furniture and replacing balcony banisters.
  • Repairing drywall through patching and painting.
  • Assisting in routine inspections of premises, equipment, and systems.
  • Diagnosing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical problems and resolving them or coordinating with the Property Manager for necessary repairs.
  • Overseeing technicians during professional repair tasks when needed.
  • Reporting required repairs, low inventory items, and maintenance needs promptly.
  • Assisting with new property installations as required.
  • Maintaining and stocking the company tool kit.
  • Being available for emergency on-call duties when assigned.
  • Participating in special projects as directed.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proximity to the operational area is preferred.
  • Prior in-house maintenance experience of 3-5 years is essential.
  • High proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Experience in:
  • Hanging and mounting items, drywall repairs, and basic carpentry.
  • Basic plumbing skills, including toilet and garbage disposal repairs.
  • Replacing and installing electrical fixtures.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work from heights.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Any construction background or trade certification is a plus.
