Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Tatte Bakery & Cafe. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cafes, catering kitchens, and central baking/commissary location.

Your primary focus will be on completing repairs and maintenance tasks, working independently and collaboratively with our cafe operations teams to meet safety regulations and building codes.

You will also work closely with our Maintenance & Facilities Manager to ensure that all physical assets, equipment, and work projects are completed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete planned and required repair and maintenance tasks at all Tatte locations
  • Perform minor repairs on cafe infrastructure, including carpentry, doors, hardware, tile work, paint, cleaning, and other maintenance tasks
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth cafe operations
  • Maintain Tatte Facilities vehicle, tools, tablet, and other company-provided resources
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as filter changes and cleaning, for equipment and storage systems
  • Ensure food safety procedures are followed when repairing, replacing, or installing equipment and performing preventive maintenance
  • Facilitate a safe working environment through inspections and observing team member safe work habits
  • Work with support leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements
  • Provide on-call weekend support and troubleshoot equipment issues over the phone
Requirements
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Client-focused approach to all work
  • Technical proficiency in troubleshooting, small-equipment repair, online record keeping, and report completion
  • Strong computer and technology skills with proficiency in MS Office
  • Demonstrated skills in managing competing priorities, detail orientation, and working effectively and independently
  • Prior facility, maintenance, and construction experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company van
Preferred Skills
  • 5 years of experience in restaurant, facilities, maintenance, and/or construction within the restaurant/hospitality industry or other closely associated businesses
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic construction principles, maintenance, budgeting, and general operation of kitchen equipment, mechanical/electrical/refrigeration systems
  • Experience with Service Channel
