Role Overview:
The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in the patient access process, ensuring a seamless experience for individuals arriving for healthcare services. This position involves direct interaction with patients to gather essential financial, insurance, medical, and demographic information, facilitating their registration while leaving a positive impression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct face-to-face interviews to accurately collect and verify patient information.
- Be cross-trained to support various areas within Patient Access, including Front Desk, Admitting Office, Emergency Department, and Cashier.
- Maintain high standards of productivity and quality in all tasks.
- Serve as a Super User and assist in training new team members.
- Utilize Epic for registration and cash collection processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, with in-person or phone contact preferred.
- An Associate's degree may substitute for up to one year of experience; a Bachelor's degree may substitute for up to two years.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively and exchange accurate information.
- Capability to work in a stationary position for extended periods and handle physical records or operate a computer.
Personal Protective Equipment:
