Overview:

This position provides essential office support to our team of survey professionals, assisting in the preparation of various survey projects throughout Texas. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Registered Professional Land Surveyor (R.P.L.S.) to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform survey tasks as directed by the Survey Project Manager and Project Surveyor
  • Complete detailed drawings from field survey data, sketches, plans, specifications, and written or verbal instructions using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Provide technical support for assigned projects
  • Review work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to RPLS for review
  • Prepare field packages, drawings, exhibits, legal descriptions, and complete simple calculations with specific instructions
  • Conduct field checks upon request
  • Compile, manipulate, and analyze survey data
  • Develop and maintain databases of survey data
  • Assist with deed research and abstract deeds, create base maps for field crews, process field crew data, and produce final drawings
  • Process acquired field data into a neat and accurate plat of survey and/or Metes and Bounds description

Requirements:

  • Associates degree, certificate, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3-D
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation a plus
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to change priorities on job tasks and/or project deadlines, as needed
  • Ability to handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher level staff
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both verbally and written
