Senior Design Engineer for Robotics Manufacturing

We're seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge robots designed to operate in human spaces and handle tools. As part of our team, you'll work closely with designers to translate complex designs into optimized assembly and test process flows, manage vendor teams, and drive technical innovation.

Key Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Design Engineer at Apptronik, your key responsibilities will include:
- Translating complex designs into optimized assembly and test process flows
- Designing and implementing assembly fixtures and equipment to support prototype assembly
- Managing vendor teams to ensure line design and setup meet program schedules
- Approving vendor CAPEX, OPEX, and process documentation
- Evaluating assembly processes for cost reduction opportunities
- Identifying key risks during project execution and driving technical teams toward solutions
- Establishing RMA processes for repairing serviceable items
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering (or related field)
- At least 5 years of experience in MFG, Process, or similar engineering roles
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes
- Experience supporting new product launches from a manufacturing or product development perspective
- Excellent written and oral communication in highly technical applications
- Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
- Detailed knowledge of product development processes and life cycles
- Familiarity with business software tools (Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, Dropbox, etc.)
