GENERAL OVERVIEW
A faculty member at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) is responsible for delivering engaging, clinically-oriented educational experiences for students pursuing careers in health sciences, utilizing face-to-face, blended, and/or online instructional methods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains proficiency in subject matter
  • Encourages student achievement through effective engagement
    • Completes all course management tasks to adhere to program timelines
    • Develops and presents course materials
    • Tracks student progress and provides constructive feedback
    • Facilitates student involvement in educational activities
    • Acts as a liaison between students and the university
  • Evaluates student performance and utilizes results for instructional enhancement
    • Assesses student work on assignments/exams/projects
    • Communicates with program leadership regarding student challenges or concerns
    • Ensures uniformity in content and assessments for multi-section courses
    • Conducts annual self-assessment of teaching effectiveness; establishes improvement objectives
  • Updates course materials to ensure relevance and alignment with academic standards
    • Suggests enhancements for future course offerings
  • Exemplifies professionalism by demonstrating appropriate behaviors in and out of the classroom; fosters inter-professional dialogue
  • Collaborates with relevant departments to promote a supportive team atmosphere
  • Adheres to the university's core values, policies, and procedures
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

May undertake other duties as assigned by management.

REPORTS TO: Academic Program Director

SUPERVISION: None

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in distance education is preferred.
  • A terminal degree is preferred. A post-professional master's degree or clinical doctorate with demonstrated clinical expertise and plans to obtain a terminal degree will be considered.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred, including online instruction.
  • Experience in scholarly activities is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience in the relevant subject area is required.
  • Familiarity with educational theories and methodologies is essential.
CREDENTIALS

Faculty members must possess appropriate credentials, hold an earned degree from an accredited institution or one recognized by a country's education ministry in the relevant discipline, and be licensed or license-eligible to teach in specific programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily conducted in a standard office environment, with potential exposure to moderate noise levels. The role involves the use of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands typical of an office setting, such as walking, standing, and communicating.

Contributing Faculty are engaged for specific assignments that may vary by term. Compensation is a

reasonable estimate and will be determined based on course credit hours, student enrollment, and educational qualifications.

Compensation Range $295 - $10,506.
