Lead Operations Strategist

McKesson is in search of a proactive and inspiring leader for the position of Outbound Operations Strategist at our distribution center.
The Lehigh Valley distribution center is the largest within the McKesson Medical-Surgical network, boasting a warehouse team of over 500 dedicated professionals.

Providing exceptional service to our clients while meeting performance benchmarks is a daily objective of this leadership position.
The distribution center features advanced systems such as automated induction, workflow management, pick-to-light technology, and automated storage retrieval systems, all designed to help achieve these objectives.
You will be equipped with the necessary tools and resources to lead a highly effective team.
Key Responsibilities
• Over 10 years of experience in a distribution and/or operational setting
• Supervise large teams across multiple shifts in a 24/7 operational environment
• Background in automation and management systems
• Proficient in performance metrics and process enhancement
• Strong financial and analytical skills; capable of utilizing data to drive outcomes.
• Foster employee engagement while building collaborative relationships internally and externally.
• Oversee, train, and develop supervisors and associates through effective coaching and communication.
• Ability to inspire others and create a positive, organized, and clean work environment, dedicated to our team and clients.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer care, reducing costs, and increasing service capacity and productivity.
Required Skills
• Comprehensive understanding of the interdependencies of all departments within a distribution center
• Experience with automation and workflow management systems
• Commitment to continuous improvement with a proven track record of leading and influencing team members
• Positive change leader with strong interpersonal abilities
• Strong critical thinking skills with a holistic view
• Familiarity with Labor Management Systems
• Advanced computer proficiency, including standard office software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum Requirements
• 10+ years of operational and managerial experience
Physical Requirements
• General office demands
• Position involves standing, sitting, and walking in a warehouse setting
• Must be able to carry and operate a laptop
• Willingness to work various hours in a 24/7 operational warehouse.
