Job Title: Information Specialist

Job Summary:
SoundWay Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced Information Specialist to join our team. As an Information Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and organizing information, developing and maintaining knowledge management systems, and collaborating with various teams to identify user and information needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify, categorize, and structure information and knowledge assets.
  • Create, maintain, and implement metadata and taxonomy to facilitate intuitive information navigation and search.
  • Design and optimize search systems and algorithms to ensure quick and accurate retrieval of relevant information.
  • Implement metadata tagging and indexing mechanisms for content enrichment and improved search results.
  • Generate and curate high-quality content, including documentation, FAQs, best practices, and other informational resources.
  • Ensure the accuracy, relevance, and currency of knowledge content through regular updates and reviews.
  • Evaluate and recommend knowledge management tools, software, and platforms to enhance information sharing and collaboration across teams.
  • Administer and configure knowledge management systems, intranets, or content management platforms.
  • Provide training and support to team members on knowledge management practices, tools, and platforms.
  • Assist in creating user guides and training materials for effective knowledge utilization.
  • Analyze usage patterns and trends to derive insights that drive continuous improvement of knowledge management processes.
  • Generate reports and metrics to showcase the value and impact of knowledge management initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree.
  • Minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience consistent with the job description and requirements.
  • Proficiency in knowledge management software, content management systems, and collaboration tools.
  • Strong understanding of taxonomies, ontologies, and information retrieval methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in knowledge management practices.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools for tracking knowledge usage and impact.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Existing DHS EOD, active Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methods.
