Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high-quality radiographs.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain images of excellent diagnostic quality to optimally demonstrate anatomy and/or pathology while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients.
- Educate patients and families about the procedure and provide pre and post-procedure instructions.
- Take measures to provide and care for patient safety and properly utilize procedure-related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.
- Alert supervisors and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients.
- Perform special procedures, assist with quality control testing, and order supplies.
- Offer guidance to less experienced staff.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher.
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
License and Certifications
- California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology - CRTXR required upon hire.
- California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology - CRTMA required upon hire.
- ARRT Radiography - RTR upon hire.
- AHA BLS certification.
- ARRT Mammography - RTM.
