Medical Assistant Job Description

ERP International is seeking highly skilled Medical Assistants to support Inpatient and Outpatient services in conjunction with Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA and surrounding clinics.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient arrivals.
  • Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
  • Take patient vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
  • Document patient medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
  • Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
  • Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released.
Additional Duties:
  • Perform various administrative functions, such as answering telephones and transcribing accurate messages, assisting with patient check-in, assisting with scheduling appointments, and placing appointment reminder telephone calls.
  • Perform ECGs and venipuncture.
  • Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following: Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), American Medical Technologists, or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
  • No prior working experience required; recent graduates from an approved training institution are accepted.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.
Pay Scale:

$23.00/hr - $32.00/hr, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
