Job Title: Maintenance & Facilities Coordinator

Yanmar Compact Equipment North America, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance & Facilities Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance & Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and communicating maintenance and facility repairs, services, and projects. This role will assist the Maintenance team by providing direction, coordination, and support to do repair, maintenance, installations, and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports Grand Rapids campus teams on setting priorities and resolving issues related to maintenance and facilities.
  • Maintains stock parts of inventory according to required Spare Part Inventory requirements and of supplies for janitorial needs.
  • Orders parts and equipment, tracks inventory, creates reports, compares purchase orders to invoices, verifies physical inventories, locates parts as needed, and creates shortage reports.
  • Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance, installation of machines, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Ensures facilities and grounds are maintained, manages 3rd party services for lawn care, snow removal, and janitorial.
  • Provides Project Management for equipment installations, upgrades, remodel projects, and other specific projects as assigned.
  • Schedules cleaning and maintains a clean facility environment.
  • Performs facility maintenance as required or reported.
  • Develops preventive maintenance program for equipment and systems.
  • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Provides monthly reporting and tracking of department activities.
  • Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with maintenance and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all work is performed in a safe and healthy manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provides oversight to (2) Maintenance/Facilities team members.
Requirements:
  • 2-year Technical Diploma or associate degree in related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years or more related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, or work in managing plant maintenance and facilities.
  • 1-3 years of experience in working with work orders system.
  • 1-3 years MS Office (word, excel, outlook).
  • Experience in providing customer service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of work order and preventive maintenance system and processes.
  • Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Able to gather and analyze relevant information and coordinate work with other team members.
  • Functions independently within context of day-to-day activities.
  • Able to work evening or weekend as dictated by repairs.
  • Able to lift 60+lbs.
  • Able to work 40+ hours per week depending upon workload.
  • Strong computer skills.
