ABOUT THE POSITION
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role within the Corporate General Ledger team under the Corporate Controller division. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will assist in the organization's evolution towards achieving Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance as a public entity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee various month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Finance and business units to comprehend and track monthly operations for accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
- Manage SOX compliance tasks in relevant areas, including executing key controls.
- Ensure timely execution and review of all closing activities in associated domains.
- Identify and implement process enhancements related to assigned responsibilities.
- Engage directly with internal and external audit teams to facilitate timely completion of internal assessments and external audits.
- Support the integrity and accuracy of all accounting records.
- Analyze and summarize fluctuations in balance sheets and operating expenses.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams to achieve overall company objectives.
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or candidate eligible for certification.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct).
- Experience in Public Accounting (Big 4 preferred).
- Prior experience in a publicly traded organization.
- Familiarity with SOX control documentation and execution.
- Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative team player capable of working with diverse groups across the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, organized, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
