Role Overview:
The selected candidate will oversee comprehensive design tasks for both small and large-scale electrical and instrumentation engineering projects, operating under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to departmental design and drafting standards.
2. Understand project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment.
3. Promptly identify and communicate any scope or design changes.
4. Provide on-site support during project startup phases.
5. Generate preliminary designs and material estimates suitable for project evaluations.
6. Create detailed design calculations and sketches, ensuring clarity and organization for efficient review and drafting.
7. Develop designs that optimize construction materials while meeting client expectations for the final product.

8. Review calculations from other engineers for accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and specifications.
9. Assist the drafting team in resolving layout and detailing challenges.
10. Collaborate with design leaders from various disciplines to ensure seamless information flow for project completion.

11. Advise senior engineers on identified design or scope changes.
12. Aid in assembling project scopes, drawings, and specifications for procurement inquiries.
13. Review vendor and discipline drawings for electrical and instrumentation input.
14. Develop construction specifications and review fabrication drawings for compliance.

15. Conduct fieldwork to gather data, verify connections, and provide construction support.
16. Mentor less experienced drafting and engineering personnel.
17. Apply advanced engineering techniques to complex design challenges.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
2. Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
3. A minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering is necessary.

Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Familiarity with construction material specifications and installation details.
- Ability to perform various electrical calculations, including lighting, voltage drop, and conduit fill.
- Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Microstation.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with good presentation abilities.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
